National apprenticeship Week Information
National Apprenticeship Week is a great opportunity to find out more about this popular route for post-A-level students.
Apprenticeships allow students to work and train at the same time. They provide a debt free route into employment whilst still developing and learning job-specific skills, (including in some cases gaining a degree-level qualification) – and at the same time, building networks in the new workplace. Furthermore, they are now available at a range of different levels and across an ever-increasing number of sectors and organisations.
As part of the week, many well-known organisations are hosting virtual events which we are strongly encouraging students to attend. UCAS, Gov.uk, Cambridge Regional College and Harlow & Stansted Airport Colleges are all offering exciting talks and guidance sessions. Some of these are with leading employers, such Sky, Dyson, Amazon and Jaguar-Land Rover or cover specific sectors such as accountancy, tech. jobs, the armed forces, the utilities or health and social care – and they are presented by careers advisors or in many cases apprentices themselves.
Please click on the link below to find a NAW Timetable of Events - 2022 which we are sharing with students and please encourage your child to look through and enrol for the talks most suitable and interesting to them. In nearly all cases, pre-registering is necessary. If you have time, you may also find it useful to participate – some of the sessions are specifically in the evening.
