Finance opportunities

These roles are key to supporting the day to day running of the office and providing an efficient central finance service to the schools within the Trust:

Finance Team Leader

37 hours per week (8.30am – 4.30pm) Full Time (52 weeks)

Salary Scale 6, Paypoint 13 £24,948

We are looking for someone who is ideally AAT qualified to provide day to day supervision of our finance team in coordination with the SAT Finance Manager, however any other relevant accounting experience will be considered. Working knowledge of PS Financials accounting system would be highly advantageous and experience of working in a school preferred, however not essential. This is a fast paced environment, so good commercial exposure would also be considered. Excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills, applied with precision and speed is essential with an ability to prioritise your own workloads and to work to deadlines. You will also have excellent communication skills along with a trustworthy and flexible approach as well as experience of interacting with suppliers and customers.

Main duties to include:

  • Motivating and leading the finance team, contributing to their training and development in coordination with the SAT Finance Manager
  • Acting as first point of contact on financial processes from school staff and the Finance Team
  • Operation of all aspects of the financial accounting system including end of month and year processes

Finance Assistant

25 hours per week (9.00 am – 2.30pm) Term time (plus inset days) plus two weeks holiday working

Salary Scale 4, Paypoint 6 £21,968 (pro rata £13,295)

We also seek to appoint an organised, experienced and confident individual to assist with the financial operations of the trust. You will be responsible for raising sales invoices, banking of cash, looking after the School games organiser finances and other SWCHS specific funds, placing orders and processing purchase invoices where necessary. This is a varied and busy role and you will need to be proficient in the use of IT packages including Office and financial management systems. A flexible, calm, approachable and professional manner with a 'can do' approach is essential.
