Student Support Officer

We are looking for someone to work within our school’s dynamic and committed Student Achievement Team to support the academic achievement and well-being of our students.

At SWCHS we pride ourselves on our pastoral provision aimed at supporting all students within our school community. We employ teaching and non-teaching colleagues to work with our young people, including Year Achievement Coordinators (YAC), Deputy Year Achievement Coordinators (DYAC), Student Support Officers (SSOs), a full-time counsellor, school nurse and dedicated Crocus Wellbeing team. The successful candidate will join the Student Achievement team and will work as part of a year team, supporting their year group of 300 pupils.

Key daily tasks within this role include:

  • Working alongside the YAC and DYAC to support pupil achievement, attendance, personal development, and behaviour.
  • liaising with pupils, staff, and parents to investigate and resolve pastoral, academic or personal issues.
  • delivering cover lessons across all year groups.

Experience of working with young people is essential and experience of working in a school setting is preferable.

Hours are 37 per week term time only. Salary point 9 - 14 (£23,194 - £25,409) pro rata actual salary £19,839.90

Early years subsidised nursery on site.
