Director of School Improvement (primary)

As a consequence of the growth of Saffron Academy Trust (SAT) and Saffron Teaching School Hub, we require an exceptional teacher and inspirational leader to take on the role of Director of School Improvement and Assistant Director of the Saffron Teaching School Hub (Primary) for the Trust from September 2021.

The successful candidate will already have leadership experience of a school, ideally as an Assistant or Deputy Headteacher. They will have a record of identifying and leading school improvement projects as well as delivering high quality professional development. This is a full-time and permanent post. The post-holder will be based at two SAT schools in Dunmow and Saffron Walden and will be expected to travel within Essex to support the role.

The post-holder will work alongside key members of the Trust and Teaching School Hub to ensure that standards of achievement, and teaching and learning across SAT’s Primary schools are of the highest quality and that schools joining the Trust are fully supported.  The post-holder will also lead Primary CPD in Saffron Teaching School Hub, alongside the Director of the Saffron Teaching School Hub.

It will be the responsibility of this Director to continue to raise and maintain the standards of education across Early Years, Key Stage 1 & 2 and to identify and share best practice throughout the Trust and the Hub region.  The role will also involve close liaison with the Director of the Saffron Teaching School Hub to ensure that the appropriate NLE and SLE resources are deployed where they are needed. It is likely they will lead school improvement projects for the Hub and actively seek out these opportunities for the Trust.

In order to apply for the position please complete the application form and write a letter (approximately 2 sides of A4) describing how your skills and experience have prepared you for the role.

The closing date for applications is 9 a.m. 26th April 2021
