Head of Chemistry

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, who already has some curriculum leadership experience.  They will oversee the Chemistry curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, relevant, well-sequenced and well-resourced.  They will ensure that the teaching and learning of Chemistry across the department is of the highest standard, and that students of all abilities make excellent progress.  They will be innovative in engaging students and embedding links to real-life applications of Chemistry into the curriculum and into extra-curricular activities.

The Science Area has a reputation for excellence with high results at both A-level and GCSE reflecting the high quality of teaching and learning taking place. Teachers are innovative when developing their skills in the classroom and thrive on collaboration.   The successful applicant will join the dedicated and dynamic Science leadership team.
