A copy of the letter from our Headteacher is available below, which includes the link for you to complete if you would like your child to take part.

FAQs – Summer School

Is it compulsory?

This is a non-compulsory summer school. We have been allocated Government funding to provide a summer school for prospective Year 7s, and it will be an optional event.

What subjects will be on the timetable?

We are still planning the timetables and are aiming to provide a wide range of subjects from all areas.  However, there will be a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy during the week.

There will be some PE lessons during the week, and we hope to provide some other outdoor activities as well.

What creative activities might there be?

We plan to include lessons from our Art and Drama Departments. Saffron Hall will also be offering a Dance workshop.

There will be a free meal provided to all students attending.

Can we bring our own packed lunch?

Students are permitted to bring with them a packed lunch if preferred.

Do we have to come every day?

If you are signing up your child to the summer school, they will be expected to attend all week. Part-time attendance will not be permitted.

What is the dress code?

Students should attend in their own clothes. Please dress sensibly and comfortably.

We are on holiday that week, will my child be disadvantaged in September if they do not attend?

The summer school is open to all students, however, those that do not attend will not be at any disadvantage.
