SWCHS student raised a fantastic £7,000 for charity

Year 13 student, Peter, walked from his home near Saffron Walden to Scotland for charity over the summer.  He listened to 'I'm gonna be (500 miles)' on repeat every step of the way!  Read his story below:

"I decided to walk to Scotland to raise money for 'The Childhood Trust Charity'.  The walk took a total of two weeks and 300 miles!  It was extremely challenging, far more so than I had anticipated.  The pain and damage to my feet were some of the worst I have experienced. However, along the way I met some of the kindest people who looked after me at their camp sites and fed me at their restaurants, it was two of the most rewarding weeks I could have imagined!  As well as going through countless beautiful places such as York, Lincoln, Sleaford and Durham as well as the Yorkshire Dales the experiences and memories I made will last a lifetime!

The Childhood Trust charity does such amazing things for children in poverty and I am honoured to be able to help with that and am looking forward to seeing first-hand how the money I raised will help those from disadvantaged backgrounds.” Find out more here: https://www.childhoodtrust.org.uk/"
